  3. DID YOU KNOW?... That the registered version of MERLIN (1.4i), now has nearly
  4. 100 tracking locations included in the menu, and that many of these are based
  5. on the "official" locations normally used by the National Hurricane Center for
  6. watch/warning and landfall possibility.  By registering, you also have YOUR
  7. city added to MERLIN's "What if..." menu BEFORE shipping (if we can locate its
  8. coordinates - we've found every user's coordinates so far!):

  61. Tropical Storm/Hurricane data can be received with hourly updates from weather
  62. radios sold at any Radio Shack.  Although the updates are hourly, hurricane
  63. information changes typically two times per day, with more frequent updates
  64. if the U.S. coast is threatened.  I've found these reports to be the best
  65. source for MERLIN data, and general information on the storm, as perceived by
  66. the National Weather Service.

  68. At this point, I again want to caution you - No person or computer program,
  69. not even MERLIN, can predict the future.  ALWAYS pay close attention to the
  70. progress of an approaching storm, and heed the warnings of local authorities
  71. in your area.  If they say to evacuate, DO IT!  The Twelve Hour Projection is
  72. the most recent trend of the storm extended 12 hours into the future.  There
  73. is NO guarantee that the most recent trend will continue.

  75. Atlantic storm names for the 1992 season are: Andrew, Bonnie, Charley,
  76. Danielle, Earl, Frances, Georges, Hermine, Ivan, Jeanne, Karl, Lisa, Mitch,
  77. Nicole, Otto, Paula, Richard, Shary, Tomas, Virginie and Walter.
